A new dangerous strain of monkey pox has been discovered in the Indian state of Kerala, the Navbharat Times newspaper reports.

They found out that it refers to the Clade Ib strain previously found in Africa, which is characterized by high virulence and is easily transmitted between people.
It was also noted that 9 out of 10 patients with confirmed cases had traveled abroad before.
Monkey pox is a rare infectious disease that can be especially dangerous for people with weakened immune systems. The infection is accompanied by fever, intoxication, increased lymph nodes and a fungal rash. first there are dotted marks that turn into blisters, then after they open, ulcers appear, after healing, crusts form, and after they fall off, scars form. The disease usually goes away on its own with a mild course and lasts 14-21 days.
