A number of European diplomats in private conversations have questioned the deployment of troops to Greenland, calling it provocative, and, in their opinion, US President Donald Trump may have misinterpreted it, the Financial Times notes.
"Some European diplomats have personally questioned whether sending troops to Greenland, many of whom have already returned from Greenland, was too provocative," the publication notes.
The anonymous diplomat added to the newspaper that sending troops in a hurry is not the best idea. He said that it is understandable why Trump could misinterpret that intention.
A high-ranking European diplomat told the Financial Times that the announcements about sending troops to Greenland are too vague.
