Reuters. The US is ready to sell Venezuelan oil for $45 per barrel

US Energy Minister Chris Wright announced that Washington is ready to sell Venezuelan oil for $45 per barrel.

US President Donald Trump previously promised that oil donated by Caracas would be sold to the US at market prices. According to the agency, Brent oil futures closed at $64.13 per barrel on Friday.

"Now we can sell this oil today. They will get $45 for oil," Wright was quoted as saying by Reuters.

It is noted that before the US took Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to power, Caracas was getting about $31 per barrel.

According to Wright, the United States keeps the proceeds from the sale of Venezuelan oil in American accounts in Qatar.
