Macron appeared at the meeting at the Elysée Palace wearing glasses due to eye problems

French President Emmanuel Macron attended a meeting at the Elysee Palace wearing sunglasses after reports of a red eye during his speech on January 15, Le Parisien newspaper reported.

“I apologize for these glasses, it's due to a small problem. I will have to wear them for a while, so you will have to bear with it," the president said on his arrival at the Elysée Palace on January 16.

On January 15, Macron made a speech in front of the troops at the Istres airbase in the south of the republic. As the newspaper noted, he left the plane with glasses, which he did not take off before entering the building.

While talking to the soldiers, Macron joked about his eye condition.

"I apologize for the ugly appearance of my eyes. You can compare this to the eye of the tiger, which symbolizes strength and determination," he said.

On January 15, the Elysee Palace clarified that the head of state has no health problems.
