Ayshat Baymuradova from Chechnya, who was killed in Yerevan, may have been poisoned. "Dozhd", the source close to the investigation told Valeriya Kirsanova.
Two months later, the Armenian authorities have not yet revealed the probable cause of the Chechen refugee's death. According to Davit Isteev, director of "SK SOS" crisis group, Baymuradova's body was found in her rented apartment, near the front door, with her shirt pulled up.
"It was believed that he tried to escape from the apartment, trying to save himself. He died slowly and agonizingly. The apartment was covered with blood. Thus, it seems that his killers sat down and waited for his death," said the human rights defender.
"Dozhd" also learned that Karina Iminova, Baymuradova's Instagram friend, with whom she died after meeting, is originally from Kyrgyzstan. It is known that he tried to establish contacts with other Chechen refugees.
"Human rights defenders fear that the Armenian authorities may hide the murder of a Chechen woman," the media reports.
