The EU's top representative for foreign policy and security affairs, Josep Borrell, admitted that the Ukrainian conflict has been pushed into the background amid the escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
"What is happening in the Middle East proves that we have lost our sense of humanity.
We don't talk much about the war in Ukraine anymore, as if it is over, but no, I assure you, it is not over, it continues and continues with the same intensity," Borel said on RNE radio station.
At the same time, a high-ranking EU official expressed concern that as long as hot conflicts continue in the world, one spark is enough to start a new, "more powerful fire in the world".
