"Fact" daily writes:
Although there is a view that the West supports the current authorities of Armenia, nevertheless, it seems that this support has significantly decreased, and not all Western circles, to put it mildly, support Nikol Pashinyan and his government. This is evidenced by the recent sharp references in a number of prestigious Western media, as well as the reactions of individual European officials, related to the campaign against the Church by the Armenian authorities, the repression against the clergy, the opposition, in particular, the arrest of businessman Samvel Karapetyan.
For example, during the Yerevan session of the Euronest PA Political, Human Rights and Democracy Committee, European Parliament Member Nacho Sanchez Amor and German Member of Parliament Sergey Lagodinski gave very harsh assessments of the actions of the Armenian authorities and law enforcement agencies.
Last week, the prestigious Financial Times published an extensive article. GBnews also covered extensively. And in general, these days a number of Western media have covered the repressions taking place in Armenia.
No less interesting is the fact that, as it turned out, the coordinator of the "Our way" movement Narek Karapetyan left for New York, where an interview with the world-famous political commentator Tucker Carlson is planned. What issues will be touched upon during the interview will be clear in the near future, but the fact of the interview itself is very remarkable. First of all, this circumstance can be considered contrary to the stereotype spread in Armenia that Samvel Karapetyan's person has only "Russian support".
Moreover, this stereotype is exclusively based on the fact that he mostly carried out his business activities in Russia. Secondly, the thing is that Carlson has conducted interviews with the leaders of various states, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, etc., and in the case of Armenia, he invites an opposition figure to an interview, not the Prime Minister of the country.
Tucker Carlson is one of the most popular American political commentators and has close ties to the Trump administration. There are never any coincidences in such matters.
So, most likely, even in the West they started to "wash their hands" of Nikol Pashinyan.
