As part of the criminal proceedings, an accusation was made against the head of the Byureghavan community, Hakob Balasyan, for abusing his official powers with 9 counts (Part 1 of Article 308 of the former Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia). The media information was confirmed by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
Criminal proceedings relate to the illegal expropriation of land through sham auctions.
The committee also informed that the prohibition of absence and suspension of office were applied to the head of the community as measures of disruption.
