A social network user with the nickname AppleDemo X has published photos of rare prototypes of the first AirPods wireless headphones with a transparent case.
According to reports, Apple has produced a limited number of only a few hundred units of these devices for dust and moisture resistance testing. However, the company has not officially released AirPods with a transparent case and has not shown any intention to introduce such a solution in the commercial series.
The first AirPods went on sale in 2016. They formed the basis for Apple's line of wireless headphones and popularized TWS (True Wireless Stereo) headphones. These headphones have no wires connecting them or connecting them to the sound source.
Although Apple's AirPods were the first commercially successful TWS headphones, the idea itself was developed by the German company Bragi back in 2014.
Currently, Apple's wireless headphones are presented in three series: AirPods Pro headphones, numbered AirPods (headphones) and full-sized AirPods Max.
