Davit Hambardzumyan, head of Masis city, writes:
"Dear compatriots, As you already know, Yerevan Criminal Court sentenced me yesterday to 6 years and 3 months in prison. The court did not take into account the fact that there is no justification for the actions I am accused of in the criminal case. Not a single fact, not a single testimony, not a single proof, not a single other circumstance that could, even in the slightest way, justify my guilt. Literally nothing. After 7.5 years, the decision to imprison me as soon as possible in a fabricated case shows that the sanction applied against me is exclusively political. The criminal case initiated on the occasion of the incident that took place 7.5 years ago was terminated in respect of all the participants of that incident, and only I was considered by this government as an organizer, doing everything to end up in prison.
In other words, there are no participants in the incident, but there is an organizer. Dear compatriots, a few months ago, when I accepted the proposal of the "I have the honor" parliamentary faction to nominate me for the position of RA Prime Minister, I was aware that the authorities would do everything to neutralize the real danger that had arisen for them. When making the decision, I was ready for all kinds of trials, knowing full well that the struggle for the independence of the Motherland is not an easy path at all. I, assuming that responsibility, will continue to do everything to free Armenia from the treacherous authorities. Impeachment was and continues to be the only option to get rid of Nikol.
Therefore, I call on the opposition and all patriotic citizens to unite around that agenda and implement the process of expressing no confidence in the Prime Minister as soon as possible. I assure you that there are all the necessary conditions for that.
Our people also want that. Therefore, it is necessary to fight and achieve victory. Dear compatriots, as you know, these days I am on a business trip abroad. My return ticket to Armenia is on October 28. Nothing has changed in my plans. I even rule out the idea of running away from Nikol and his tyrannical legal system.
Soon I will be in Armenia and we will all fight together for the freedom of me, the Holy Fathers, other political prisoners and our entire country. By God."
