Grisha Harutyunyan, who heads the list of the "Mother Armenia" party in the extraordinary elections of the Vagharshapat Council of Elders, wrote on his Facebook page:
"Dear citizens of Merarshapat, As you know, Argishti Mekhakyan, number one on the CP list in these elections, made baseless accusations against our teammate, the long-time leader of Tsaghkunk community, Davit Karapetyan. This was followed by Davit Karapetyan's offer to Argishti Mekhakyan to come to a live debate with him.
However, the latter avoids the debate with Davit Karapetyan. We have repeatedly stated that the target of "Mother Armenia" is exclusively the CP, as well as its affiliates.
Therefore, we consider the discussion in a broader format planned with the participation of the candidates of other political forces on the Public Television to be ineffective. Participating in that format of the big pre-election debate will also not give an opportunity to fully present our program provisions and ideas.
We will present them to our dear Merarshapat residents by personally communicating with them on a daily basis, through yard meetings and other, more effective formats of the pre-election campaign.
