Lawyer Tigran Atanesyan recently published a video on his Facebook page, in which he explains the criminal case in which Davit Hambardzumyan was imprisoned.
According to the lawyer, the case dragged on for about 6 years. "The criminal case is the case initiated in 2018, related to the events that took place at the intersection of Hayanist and Hovtashat villages in April of that year. In that case, Davit Hambardzumyan was charged under part 4 of Article 250 of the former Criminal Code, i.e. "armed hooliganism". He was arrested, then bail was applied in the fall of 2018. The case was in the courts for 6 years, starting from 2019, and today it had its end, so to speak."
The lawyer emphasized that none of the 4 witnesses examined in the court in the mentioned case gave an incriminating testimony against Hambardzumyan, moreover, 3 of them later refused their initial testimony. "But that didn't stop the judge from issuing a guilty verdict."
Atanesyan also mentioned that the amnesty was applicable to Davit Hambardzumyan in this case, but the judge canceled the bail and applied detention as a preventive measure.
