An unexpected cause of heart problems found

According to researchers at the Medical College of the University of Kinzinati, the increase in the impact of other phenols contained in Bisfinol A (BPA) and plastic goods can make changes in the electric heart system. The results were published on the official website of the University of Kinzinati (UC).

BPA and similar compounds are widely used in packaging, plastic bottles, coupons paper, cosmetics and other consumer goods. Previous studies have shown that in case of regular contact with these items, phenols are gradually accumulating in the human body. Their impact is related to the risk of heart disease, allergic reactions and endocrine disorders.

In a new study, scientists have analyzed 600 people's health information, including phenol level and heart settings. The results showed that the participants with higher concentrations of these compounds in the blood and tissues were more prone to electrocardiography anomalies that testify to heart rhythm disorders.

Scientists note that healthy individuals who do not have heartfelt diseases, the risk of such changes remains low. However, in the presence of genetic factors or old age, the influence of phenols can significantly increase the risk of heart problems. Even in case of low concentrations, these materials can have a cumulative effect, gradually affecting the cardiovascular system.

The next stage of the study will be the disclosure of the most vulnerable groups of the population and the development of proposals on reducing the impact of such compounds in everyday life.
