During his presidency in BRICS, Russia worked in three main directions of cooperation between the member countries of the association, Vladimir Putin said at the meeting of the summit with a narrow composition.

"We sought to strengthen the prestige of BRICS, to increase its role in world affairs, in solving urgent global and regional problems, and in every way to contribute to the deepening of multilateral cooperation between our states in three main areas: politics and security, economy and finance, and cultural and humanitarian contacts." - said the Russian President.

He noted that a lot is being done to ensure the smooth and as complete as possible integration of new countries into the work of BRICS.
