Tbilisi will not change the country's legislation at the request of the European Commission, the Georgian Prime Minister stated. According to Irakli Kobakhididze, the purpose of legislative changes is to prevent foreign forces from organizing a revolution in the country.
"If there is a choice between peace and family values or visas, we will prioritize peace," said the Prime Minister. Kobakhidze stated that Brussels speaks of blackmail language with Tbilisi.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Callas expressed concern that there is a serious regression of democracy in Georgia.
"We are discussing what we can do. All options are on the table, including without the suspension of visa regime, "Kallas said.
According to him, the course of the Georgian government, in particular the laws on foreign agents and family values, raises concerns.
