Istanbul mayor Ekim Imamoglu has been sentenced to 1 year to 8 months in prison for "publicly insulting the civil servant", Habertürk reports.
The trial started with the statements made by Imamoglu's Prosecutor General Akin Gunlek, whose honesty, as if he had questioned.
The hearings took place in Silivri prison near Istanbul, where the mayor is kept from the end of March after his arrest in a separate financial abuse.
In January, when he testified, he insisted that he simply realizes his right to freedom of speech, and his statements do not contain threats or calls.
"Ekim Imamoglu has been sentenced to the threats against Akin Gyurlek, Istanbul. Ekim Imamoglu has been sentenced to 1 year to 8 months in prison, "he said.
