Israel Says Iran Will "Pay a High Price" for Hezbollah Strike on Netanyahu's Residence

Israeli politicians issued a statement Saturday night promising that Tehran would "pay a heavy price" for the Lebanese Hezbollah drone strike on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home, the Times of Israel reports.

On Saturday morning, three drones were launched from Lebanon, targeting the Prime Minister's private residence. Two were captured on Rosh Hanikrah and Nahariya, while the third exploded in the central coastal city of Caesarea, known for its luxurious villas and ancient ruins. The prime minister and his wife were not at home at the time of the attack.

Public broadcaster Kan reported that tax officials and a gardener came to Netanyahu's home after the attack.

After initially confirming that his home was the target of the drone strike, Netanyahu released a statement saying that "Iranian agents who tried to kill me and my wife today made a grave mistake." His remarks were echoed by his government ministers and opposition lawmakers, as well as allies abroad, many of whom said Iran "will be forced to regret the actions of its host Hezbollah."

Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Galant, while praising Israel's achievements in destroying the Palestinian group Hamas and reducing the combat capability of "Hezbollah", threatened that the Israeli security services "will continue to attack any terrorist and forcefully strike any enemy who harms or tries to harm the State of Israel."
