Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi agreed on new contacts between Moscow and Tehran. The statement came from the Russian Diplomatic Department after the meeting within the framework of the Ministerial Session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
"The ministers agreed on upcoming communication at different levels," he said.
The leaders of the diplomatic departments also stressed the importance of resolving the crisis on Iran's nuclear program exclusively with political and diplomatic means.
"The parties continued to exchange views on issues of regional and international interest.
