The Kazakh Ministry of Commerce and Integration has promised to answer 25% Trump customs duties, the press service of the department stated on Tuesday.
US President Donald Trump has sent a letter to Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, informing him that Washington will set 25% customs duties on goods imported from Kazakhstan on August 2025.
"The Ministry of Commerce and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan is preparing an official response to the definition of 25% of customs duties imported from Kazakhstan to the United States," the statement said.
On April 3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the US tariff measures will affect only 4.8% of the export of Kazakhstan America. More than 90% of the goods supplied to this country will not be subject to additional customs duties, as they are in the list of exceptions approved by the United States.
