BRICS leaders expressed hope that continuing efforts to resolve the situation in Ukraine will lead to a peace agreement in Rio de Janeiro.
"We remind the positions of the UN Security Council and the positions expressed in the UN General Assembly in accordance with our countries, including the UN General Assembly. We appreciate the mediation proposals, including African peace initiative and the "Friends of Peace" group aimed at a peaceful settlement of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy. We expect that the current efforts will lead to a stable peaceful settlement, "the statement said.
