Russia hopes to release arrested journalists during direct contacts with the Azerbaijani side. The statement came from Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Gazeta reports.
According to the Kremlin's representative, such measures against the media representatives do not correspond to the general rules of Russian-Azerbaijani relations and the norms, spirit and nature.
"We believe that this extreme emotional response will be replaced by direct contact, during which the answers to all the raised questions will be given," said Peskov.
