From January 2026, the French Riviera region will be limited to the entry of large-scale tourist ships and the daily reduction of passengers to reduce the accumulation of people and the environmental pollution.
The home of the world's chief film festival, the Kan's resort, has joined the growing global reaction of unnecessary tourism and has made "strict rules" for tourist ships, Euronews writes.
Since next year, the port will be allowed to enter the ships with less than 1,000 passengers, no more than 6,000 passengers will be allowed to go. Bigger ships will have to move the passengers into small boats.
Last year, about 100 million people visited France, more than any other European country, more than the own population of the republic, said Euronews.
