Reuters: Several NATO countries have signed an agreement to create a satellite network in the Arctic

Several member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance agreed on Thursday in Brussels to create the Northlink satellite communications network in the Arctic region. This was reported by Reuters with reference to a NATO representative. “The strategic role of the Arctic is becoming increasingly important due to the tense geopolitical situation. At the same time, the region does not have the necessary satellite coverage for communications and navigation, and therefore for military operations,” - he said.
According to the agency's interlocutor, the countries that signed the agreement included Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Iceland, Italy, Canada, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, the USA, Finland, France and Sweden
