Stoltenberg will write a book about his “watch” as head of NATO

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who was replaced 10 days ago, will write a book about his 10 years of “watch” as head of the alliance; the memoirs are planned to be released in the fall of 2025, reports the Norwegian newspaper VG. On October 1, the official handover of affairs to the new Secretary General took place at NATO headquarters in Brussels alliance - to ex-Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte.

Previously, Stoltenberg stated that after completing his term of office he would write a book, but did not disclose its contents. “In the book, Stoltenberg will tell the story of his 10-year tenure as leader... of the military alliance. The book will be published... in the fall of 2025,” - the message says.

According to the newspaper, in the book, tentatively titled “My Watch,” Stoltenberg will talk about working for NATO “during a very dramatic period.” The main topics will be the presence of NATO troops in Afghanistan, interaction with then US President Donald Trump, as well as the bloc’s relations with Russia and China. The rights to the book have already been sold to nine countries, the publication notes.
