The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia presented the draft order of the Minister of Education and Procedure on Approval of the Organization of Competitions to establish state funding for public discussion.
Adoption of settings is conditioned by the need to fully implement the Law on Cinematography. They are aimed at the development of national film production, clarifying state funding mechanisms, increasing the competitiveness of the sphere and promoting international cooperation.
According to the project, a new film projects are being developed, which will include a new competition standards, a new competition for film production will be established, and the financing of film projects will be implemented through phased competitions, taking into account the type of films (feature, documentary, animation) and budget criteria. It is also planned to provide assistance to start-up film directors, including the production of debut films.
The project will create more favorable conditions for filmmakers, access to state funding and increasing efficiency.
Improving the tender mechanisms will allow to promote international competitiveness of Armenian films by supporting the development of national cinematography.
