Tokyo announced that the Brazilian president's visit to Japan will take place from March 24 to 27.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will pay a state visit to Japan from March 24 to 27, the Japanese Foreign Ministry announced.

The visit will include a meeting with Japanese Emperor Naruhito, as well as talks and a dinner with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

As noted by Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi, Tokyo hopes to strengthen relations between the two countries, which are “strategic global partners.”

In recent years, Tokyo has been actively developing relations with countries of the so-called global south, which adhere to an independent foreign policy.
