Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow is expecting Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to attend the 80th anniversary of Victory Day celebrations in the Russian capital.
“We, at the invitation of (Russian) President Vladimir Putin, are expecting esteemed Emomali Sharipovich Rahmon to attend the celebrations on May 9,” Lavrov said.
The statement was made during a meeting with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Mukhridine.
On February 10, it was reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping had accepted an invitation to participate in the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will be held in Moscow on May 9.
