The German defense company Helsing will deliver 6,000 kamikaze drones equipped with artificial intelligence to Ukraine in 2025, the Bild newspaper reports.
These are HX-2 drones with a range of up to 100 km. The drone can reach speeds of up to 220 km/h and can be armed with anti-tank and anti-building ammunition.
The publication claims that artificial intelligence will allow the drones to avoid the effects of electronic warfare and operate in bad weather conditions. The drone is also capable of carrying out the final stage of the attack independently, without the participation of an operator.
In 2024, Helsing has already delivered 4,000 drones to Kiev. The new supply is estimated at several hundred million euros and is to be financed from the 3 billion euro aid package provided to Ukraine.
