Peskov expressed hope that Israel and Hamas will fulfill their obligations

Russia expects Israel and Hamas to fulfill their obligations under the agreement, and Moscow is monitoring the situation, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"We are watching, of course, and we hope that both sides will fulfill their obligations and that the people will be released," Peskov said.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that his state would resume military operations in the Gaza Strip if the Palestinian Hamas movement did not release the hostages by noon on February 15.

The prime minister did not specify how many hostages should be released.
