Lavrov announced Russia's readiness to help resolve the Sudanese crisis

Moscow is ready to support the settlement of the situation in Sudan, together with other external actors, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

“Of course, as good friends, we are concerned about the dramatic events that are currently taking place in Sudan, we, together with other external actors, want to help settle the situation,” the minister said at the start of talks with Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Youssef Sharif.

According to Lavrov, the restoration of bilateral cooperation with Sudan depends entirely on security conditions.

The Sudanese Foreign Minister, in turn, said that his country appreciates that the Russian Federation stands “side by side” with the Sudanese people, while Sudan “is going through a serious war, which is taking place between the army and the rapid reaction forces.”
