Orban vows to "conquer Brussels" at Madrid summit

The summit of the leaders of the right-wing conservative parties that make up the European Patriots group in the European Parliament, which took place in Madrid, was another important step towards curbing Brussels. According to Rentv, this was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on February 10.

“The Madrid summit was another important step for us. Together we will conquer Brussels,” reads a message published on Orbán’s social network.

The Hungarian politician also thanked Santiago Abascal, a member of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, who chaired the summit, for his “fantastic hospitality.”

The “European Patriots” faction was formed in 2024 following the results of the European Parliament elections. It included 84 deputies representing 14 parties from 12 countries. The summit in Madrid took place on February 7 and 8.

Orbán had earlier noted that complete madness had begun in Brussels due to the “tornado” of US President Donald Trump. The Hungarian Prime Minister pointed out the need for changes in this regard.

After that, Orbán announced that Hungary intends to conclude a deal with the United States in order to maintain economic relations between the countries. According to him, negotiations on this issue are already underway with the new American administration.
