Ukraine no longer exists without Western money, economic activity remains in ruins, and the country's EU membership will pose a major threat to the European economy and agriculture, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said.
"If we talk about the post-war period, we must understand that Ukraine is a very serious challenge and even a threat to the European economy," Orban said on Kossuth radio.
The Prime Minister of Hungary clarified that with Ukraine's theoretical membership in the EU, "serious protective measures" will be required in the agricultural sector so that low-priced Ukrainian products do not destroy the European market.
"But apart from agriculture, economic cooperation with Ukraine raises a number of questions, and so far from Hungary's point of view I see more dangers than opportunities.
