Taiwan said five Chinese planes entered the island's air defense zone

Taiwan's military has recorded 11 aircraft and 9 People's Liberation Army (PLA) ships approaching the island. As the Ministry of Defense of Taiwan reported in X, five of those planes entered the air defense zone of the island.

"Today, 11 PLA aircraft and 9 PLA fleet ships were detected operating around Taiwan. Five aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern and southwestern air defense zones," the statement said.

"We monitored the situation and responded accordingly," the department said.

Taiwan has been governed by its own administration since 1949. Beijing considers Taiwan one of the provinces of the People's Republic of China.
