Biden intends to sell $8 billion worth of weapons to Israel. Axios:

The outgoing administration of US President Joe Biden intends to sell an arms package worth 8 billion dollars to Israel, the Axios portal reports, citing sources.

According to them, the US State Department has unofficially informed the Congress about its intention to conclude a deal with the Jewish state, by which Israel will receive weapons and ammunition from the US. Specifically, the United States will provide Israel with missiles for fighter jets and attack helicopters, artillery shells, small-caliber bombs, additional JDAM munitions kits, 500-pound bombs (about 227 kg), and other munitions.

Sources of the publication emphasize that the deal is intended for "long-term support for Israel's security". Some weapons are expected to be shipped to Israel directly from Pentagon warehouses, but most weapons will take "a year or more" to arrive.

Axios emphasizes that the possible sale of arms to Israel must be approved by the US House of Representatives and the Senate Foreign Relations Committees.
