On this day of 1991, December 10, a referendum was held in Artsakh, as a result of which 99.01% of people said "yes" to the idea of independence.
"Although Azerbaijan had previously "reacted" to this process with pogroms in various settlements, forced displacements, and later by initiating military operations, the people living in Artsakh showed exceptional will and courage to manage their own destiny and carry out a process consistent with the principles of international law.
Although the aggression against Artsakh in 2020, the Azerbaijani occupation in 2023 and the capitulation and defeatist course of the Pashinyan government have brought our people to an extremely difficult point, even international actors publicly record that the issue of Artsakh is not closed.
The created situation does not have simple and short solutions, it implies a long-term struggle, the basis of which, from a collective point of view, is the protection of the Armenian people and the realization of the right to live in their own homeland", wrote Tigran Abrahamyan, deputy of the "I have honor" faction of the National Assembly.
