The “Fact” newspaper writes: “In recent days, publications about the head of the Abovyan community, Eduard Babayan, have noticeably intensified in the press and on social networks. This information “wave” suggests that the political temperature in the city is gradually approaching the boiling point, and a rather hot and large-scale campaign may be launched in the near future against his possible nomination.
The reason for this commotion around Babayan’s name is clear: he does not fit into the classical schemes of either the ruling power or other poles, but he has clearly measurable support among ordinary voters. This very factor makes his possible candidacy “inconvenient” for various political centers, each of which has its own calculations and ambitions in Abovyan.
Abovyan has traditionally been one of the most politically sensitive communities, and after the end of the national elections, the attention of the main forces is focused precisely here. The city may become the main stage for the clash between the major players of the government and the opposition.
A serious battle of nerves and resources is expected, which will be accompanied by targeted, including false information leaks.
The upcoming developments will show to what extent Babayan will be able to withstand the expected information attacks and whether he will ultimately go to the end of the election campaign. At the same time, it will become clear whether his nomination will become the main political intrigue of the Abovyan elections, or will events develop according to a completely different, unexpected scenario.
