Russia has the opportunity to improve its position in the global economic rankings in the near future.
This was stated by Yulia Kovalenko, deputy head of the Moscow Higher School of Economics of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, RIA Novosti reports. According to Kovalenko, Russia may rise to third place in the global economic ranking in the future, but this will not happen in the near future.
“It cannot be said that it will be possible to reach third place in the near future, but in general there are such opportunities,” she noted. According to the expert, the pace of further economic development will depend on a number of factors, including wage growth and price formation. At the same time, experts note high interest rates, instability of oil prices, high ruble exchange rate and weak industrial indicators among the risks for the Russian economy.
