Please do not bring minor children into the mix. If there was an incident or episode involving children, say, let's discuss that episode separately, but Robert Kocharyan's house that you are looking at is bigger than this National Assembly building. A thousand apologies, if they enter a room and catch Kocharyan, the children will most likely be a few kilometers away, in the same house. This was stated by Vahagn Aleksanyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, at a briefing with journalists in parliament, in response to one of the journalists' observations that during the search of the house of Levon Kocharyan, a deputy of the NA "Armenia" faction, his three minor children were at home.
Alexanyan urged not to exploit the children's circumstances every time.
"Please do not bring children into the mix every time. Children are all children, may God give them health. All children should refrain from any negative things, but what is the citizen of the Republic of Armenia to blame for? People purchased an 8.3-hectare plot of land on Acharyan Street in Yerevan for 44 million drams in 2004,” he said, reading the episode of the case.
According to him, 8.3 hectares in Avan have never cost 44 million drams.
“Please, let’s not insult the intelligence of our citizens. What was the fault of the citizen of the Republic of Armenia that they took revenge on the citizen of the Republic of Armenia for 10 years during their rule, and 10 years during Serzh Sargsyan’s rule. It is still unclear to me why they took revenge. Levon Kocharyan, why didn’t you go and say, dear Mr. Robert Kocharyan, how is it that 8.3 hectares of land in Yerevan are sold for 44 million, and then 50 percent of that company is donated to my older brother,” said Aleksanyan.
According to him, all of that must be answered.
"I say that my dissatisfaction is that all this is happening now and not yesterday, no, not yesterday, the first day," added the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
Earlier, we reported that the criminal proceedings being investigated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee had received factual data that the person holding the position of the President of the RA, with prior agreement with people close to him, using his official position, separated from state property on various fabricated grounds and acquired a number of valuable properties of public and economic importance at prices significantly lower than market prices.
According to one of the episodes of the case, an 8.3-hectare plot of land adjacent to Acharyan and Tsarav Aghbyur streets in Yerevan was purchased for 44,657,000 AMD, where the “Play City” entertainment center was built in 2002, and two years later, on November 15, 2004, a 50 percent share of the property owner, Fast Card Company, was transferred by donation and registered in the name of the former president’s son.
