Avetik Chalabyan, the coordinator of "HayaVote" union, public-politician, was released from the courtroom. The court canceled the arrest imposed on him.
The public prosecutor petitioned to extend Chalabyan's detention for another two months, but the court did not grant the petition.
RA General Prosecutor's Office announced that the court's decision will be appealed.
Chalabyan is accused of preparing to obstruct the free exercise of the electoral right of citizens during the June 7, 2026 parliamentary elections. According to the CC's version, during a meeting with representatives of a foreign state, he tried to get Armenian citizens working abroad to come to Armenia and vote for the "Strong Armenia" alliance.
Until now, arrest was used against Chalabyan as a preventive measure.
