On July 28, a director of a limited liability company reported to the Artik Department of Community Police. a theft was committed from the quarry at night. Criminal proceedings were initiated in the investigative department of Artik and Ani. The measures taken by the community police gave results on August 5. At 4:20 a.m., a 43-year-old man from Vanadzor was arrested and taken to the department while fleeing from the same quarry. And the 37-year-old friend, a resident of Yeghegnut village, was arrested on the Maralik-Artik road and was also taken to the department along with the car he was driving.
They admitted that they committed the July 28 robbery. Further measures and investigative actions revealed that the men committed thefts from five more quarries. Industrial and electrical communication materials were stolen, and during one of the thefts, they also entered the guard house and stole household appliances. The total amount of the caused damage exceeded 3,300,000 drams.
The 43-year-old man was arrested, and the 37-year-old man was placed under house arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
