The Dresden General Prosecutor's Office and the Saxon Land Office for Criminal Affairs have taken over the investigation into the drone incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany. This is stated in a message published on the website of the administration of the German region.
Departments confirmed that last night in the security zone of the airport, next to the southern runway, an employee found a "drone with an unknown explosive device". Federal police experts examined it and removed it.
"A second unidentified flying object is believed to have collided with the cargo plane after it went into a second go-around due to the runway closure. "Minor injuries were found after the car landed in Hanover", - the announcement states.
To remind, the Leipzig/Halle airport temporarily stopped its work at night. Now only the northern runway is used for landings and takeoffs, the southern one is closed as before."There is no threat to the life and health of passengers and employees of the airport. Air traffic is not restricted for passengers., the statement said.
