The expedition of the Historical and Cultural Heritage Scientific Research Center (led by Hakob Simonyan) discovered an architectural complex consisting of about 34 stone rooms, as well as tools typical of the advanced stone industry, during the excavations in the Academic City section of Yerevan's Silikyan district.
H. According to Simonyan, this may be the oldest known settlement in the area.
The representatives of the "Academic City" Foundation visited the excavation area and met with the archaeologists carrying out the works. During the visit, the head of excavations, Hakob Simonyan, noted that in order to ensure a more accurate dating of the complex, it would be great to cooperate with international archaeological laboratories, which would make it possible to define the chronology of the finds more precisely.
The Academic City Foundation reports that the discovered archaeological heritage will be fully incorporated into the project's conservation and management projects, ensuring its study and preservation.
