Armenia plans to start exporting fish to Georgia.
According to the information of the Caspianpost.com news site, the negotiations on starting the supply of fish products with Georgia are already ready.
According to the website, the embassy emphasized that Armenia will continue cooperation with Georgia in order to expand trade and economic relations.
This intention of the Armenian side is conditioned by the decision of "Rosselkhoznadzor", according to which the import of Armenian products, including fish, is prohibited.
Russia has been consistently banning the import of various goods from Armenia since the end of May. During the last two months, the import of flowers, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, potatoes, greens, strawberries, cherries, grapes, pears, quinces, dried fruits, live fish and alcohol has been restricted. Also, the transportation of these goods through Russian transit to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) has been prohibited.
The first restrictions were introduced in the background of preparations for the June 7 parliamentary elections in Armenia, and after the victory of Pashinyan's party, their number increased dramatically.
