Mohammad Bakir Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, presented the details of the first day of the military escalation. He said that the leadership of the country learned about the death of their leader on March 9, just one hour after the initial bombing.
According to Ghalibaf, it took some time to convene an emergency meeting with the participation of key government officials. It was already 20:00 at the time of Ali Larijani's arrival. During that gathering, a decision was first made to postpone the publication of the official message on the leader's death until the next morning, after which the attendees hurriedly left.
However, later the management changed that plan. It was decided to issue an official statement at dawn, while calling on citizens to go out into the streets.
