Google has been fined 890 million euros (about $1 billion) by the European Commission for violating the Digital Markets Act.
According to the rationale, the American corporation has regulated the Google Play store and the Google Search search engine in such a way that it has limited developers, directing consumers to its own services and applications and harming competitors.
The AP agency notes that this step once again confirms the EU's position as a world leader in regulating the activities of technological giants.
