Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz stated that Ukraine occupies a strong position on the battlefield. He called on Russia to "freeze the line of contact" and return to negotiations with Kiev.
"Russia will not win this war. European support for Kyiv is unshakable," Mertz said at a conference dedicated to the restoration of Ukraine in Gdansk.
The chancellor noted that after the "Group of Seven" summit, the unity between the European countries and the USA is preserved on the issue of Ukraine.
"And today we send a clear message to Russia. the time has come to enter into negotiations, freeze the frontline and stop the killings," added Mertz.
