US President Donald Trump announced that no fee will be charged for the passage of ships during the 60-day ceasefire period in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to him, customs duties will not be imposed even after the end of that period, if the parties can complete the agreement.
Truth Social:in the publication of the social network, Trump noted that the situation when an agreement is not reached can become an exception. In that case, he said, fees could be imposed by the United States "for services rendered" and for the US's role as a "guardian angel" of Middle Eastern countries.
"There will be no customs duties during the 60-day ceasefire period in the Strait of Hormuz. After its completion, there will also be no customs duties if the transaction is completed. Otherwise, they may be imposed by the United States of America for services rendered and as compensation for past, current and future expenses," Trump wrote.
