EU foreign ministers intend to adopt a softened package of sanctions against Russia and China at a meeting in Luxembourg on June 15, while EU countries are discussing the 21st round of sanctions against Russia, reports the European publication Politico.
"At the meeting of EU foreign ministers to be held in Luxembourg on June 15, a package of limited sanctions will be adopted," the publication reports, referring to its European sources.
According to their information, sanctions will be applied to four Chinese companies.
The limited package will also include restrictions on courts and a number of individuals.
According to Politico, the approval of the reduced sanctions package is due to the failure of the EU to reach an agreement on the 21st round of sanctions against Russia, which is expected to be adopted by the end of the summer.
