US President Donald Trump has given up on the idea of occupying Greenland by force, US Ambassador to Denmark Kenneth Howery said.
"The president no longer discusses the use of force. The future of Greenland should be decided by the Greenlanders themselves," the diplomat said in an interview with the Greenlandic KNR radio station.
He expressed his optimism that the Greenland working group will be able to reach a solution that addresses both Trump's security concerns and the views of Greenland and Denmark. This solution should also provide Greenlanders with ample economic opportunities.
