2024 On October 29, the Armenian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Armen Ghevondyan met with Absattar Sirgabayev, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan, in the order of cooperation in Kyrgyzstan (seat: Astana).
With the emphasis on the development of cooperation in the field of transport between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Tajikistan, the increase in the volume of mutual trade between the two countries and the increase in transit potential, the sequence of steps and actions aimed at the development of new mutually beneficial, including multimodal transport channels, was considered.
Ambassador A. Ghevondyan presented at the meeting the steps taken by the official Yerevan in order to unblock all transport links in the South Caucasus.
In turn, Minister A. Sirgabayev informed about the plans of the Kyrgyz government for the construction and diversification of new channels, which can expand the interconnection both in Central Asia itself and in a wider context.
As a result of the meeting, readiness for a close dialogue aimed at the development and further implementation of proposals regarding prospective routes enjoying demand in terms of economic interaction was reaffirmed.
